City-museum that is impossible to be found boring

Italy’s pride Rome welcomes millions of tourists every year. The city that recalls the oldest of days holds in itself all the Western cultural signs, not unlike an opened palm. Everything in Rome brings happiness: different kinds of arts, historical sculpture, amusements, food; even communication habits of the locals. Every admirer of Europe must visit this whirlpool of culture at least once.

How to travel?

Travellers by plane are welcomed in two airports in Rome: Ciampino and Fiumicino. The good news is that cheap flights passengers can reach both of these airports. It is worth noting that the landing strips are located 10-20 kilometres away from the city. The distance to the Central Rome Station can be overcome easily by using a suburban bus or a train.

In order for legs to not tire while admiring the giant city, consider using excellently developed city metro system or trams. Rome also has many buses with various routes. Public transport of the Eternal City, however, is not very cheap. If you want to economize, you could purchase a longer validity tickets beforehand. Another great choice is “Roma Pass”, as it not only lets you travel freely for days, it also allows you to visit some sightseeing objects for free.

What to taste?

Pasta, ravioli, pizza, seafood, ice cream... Italian menu is brimming with delicacies. It is simply impossible not to try this kind of food while visiting Rome. If you seek authenticity, travel somewhat further from the city centre. By the way, do not forget to pair up your food with some fragrant Italian wine, smelling of summer’s harvest. When taking a respite from all the impressions, order a cup of coffee, and its natural taste will undoubtedly create a powerful memory.

What to see?

While taking a walk in Rome, one should look at every direction. In the distance, narrow and beckoning streets of Rome are twisting away. On both sides, as well as above and below, the wonderful sight of majestic buildings, intricate statues, and flower gardens opens up.

There are an uncountable number of places in Rome, where the mysteries of the centuries lie. If you wish to make jealous everyone who is yet to visit this city, go see the Pantheon, the Coliseum, and the Roman Forum. When evening comes, take time to admire the entrancing Trevi Fountain and the panoramic city view from the Vittoriano Monument. If you love sculptures, head over to Piazza Navona. Another very important thing for the whole world is of course the Vatican and its St. Peter’s Basilica.

What to do?

Main kinds of entertainment in Rome are all to do with sightseeing. However, if you are looking for a challenge, try to go up the Spanish Steps as quickly as possible, or attempt to see the Old Town in its entirety in just one day. Pay a visit to some local shops; many of them can be found near the famous piazzas. In case you didn’t manage to see everything you wanted this time, remember that flights from our country to Rome are frequent and safe.
