London: makes you rush and admire the greatness of cultural unity
London is the biggest city of European Union and the capital of the United Kingdom. This multicultural city is always in a hurry, very often finding itself under the onslaught of rain. However, you don’t have to be wary of raindrops, welcoming you to see the Palace of Westminster or observe the entire London from bird’s view, as it is all part of the city’s very essence.
How to travel?
After your plane lands at Gatwick Airport, you will need to cross the short distance to the city centre; best done by using a bus, a train, a taxi, or possibly even renting a car for your comfort.
Probably the most comfy ways of travelling are the London Underground or the well-known red double decker buses.
What to taste?
Taste is one of the strongest senses, leaving a long-lasting impression. London offers a simple yet filling dish of “fish and chips”. It’s a cheap and quickly prepared dish, and the locals order it often.
If you arrive to London on Monday, you will have to stay for the whole week. Why? Because you simply cannot miss out on the so-called Sunday Roast. The dish that is only prepared on the seventh day of the week is made from juicy beef, lamb, pork, or chicken meat, served with potatoes and a garnish of cooked or grilled vegetables. All of that is accompanied by the meal’s main accent in the form of Yorkshire pudding and onion gravy.
All travellers with a sweet tooth will be warmly welcomed with rhubarb pie in London. While a drink that is usually offered is strong black tea with milk, mostly drank several times a day.
What to see?
In the daylight, London flaunts its bright-coloured — even when it rains — nature, along with pompous architecture. After having some English tea, morning strolls are best made in Regent's Park, which will be a real treat for your eyes, as the park’s full of different colour flowers. Pay a visit to a nearby London Zoo, the oldest zoo in the entire United Kingdom. Do not forget visiting the famous Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, where you will get an opportunity to take a picture with your favourite celebrity. Earlier mentioned bird’s view can be achieved by going up the great London Eye, which will not fail to impress.
What to do?
When you hear the Big Ben chiming, it is a sign to get better acquainted with London’s nightlife. As expected, London offers a great many of bars and clubs. If you wish to get to know the Londoners and hear their authentic British stories, head over straight for the pubs and possibly have some alcohol while observing amazing London night landscape or watching a football match, so popular in here.
