However, before heading out, you should take care of your health insurance and get vaccinated against hepatitis A and B as a precaution. Those who arrive through territories infected with yellow fever will also need to provide a corresponding vaccination certificate upon arrival. Finally, adults should get re-vaccinated against tetanus and diphtheria if necessary.

Transportation and travel charges

After arriving to the island, it is easy to travel using rental cars or to join group tours. Local public transport system leaves much to be desired, although there are route bus and taxi services available in Saint Lucia too.

You can pay for your purchases using official local currency, East Caribbean dollars (XCD), or choose to use USA dollars instead. The latter option is a more economical one. For comparison, one Caribbean dollar is worth approximately 33 euro cents.
